Fablehaven Series Side-by-side with Twilight on New York Times Bestseller List
Brandon Mull’s series hits No. 4 behind Stephenie Meyers
Shadow Mountain Publishing announced today Utah author Brandon Mull’s fantasy series Fablehaven debuted at No. 4 on the New York Times bestselling children’s series list. The honor comes after the March 23 release of the final volume of the series, Fablehaven: Keys to the Demon Prison.
Mull and his magical creatures held their own in the top 5 against books with major motion pictures: Twilight‘s vampires (No. 3), Percy Jackson and the Olympians (No. 2) and a Wimpy Kid with a diary. (No. 1)
To date, there are more than one million of the Fablehaven series books in print, and the books are a regular on the New York Times bestselling children’s list. The Fablehaven series has received numerous awards, and is on the master reading list in 10 states.
The Fablehaven series follows the adventures of a brother and sister who set out to save a preserve for enchanted creatures. Rick Riordan, the bestselling author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series called the Fablehaven series, “A page turning adventure.”
The Hollywood Reporter said, “The series is generating buzz as a contender in the fantasy-adventure genre to replace the Harry Potter franchise,” and The Washington Post and Publishers Weekly have mentioned Fablehaven as a solid candidate to be the next big Fantasy series. A movie is in development.
Mull has been busy traveling the country on a 30-city book tour, with major events in Salt Lake City, Phoenix; Los Angeles; St. Louis; Louisville; Seattle; and Dallas.
