SunDog Music Festival Makes Its Debut

Salt Lake City, Utah — Some of the best musicians in Utah will gather on one stage and together, play in a festival-type atmosphere. The first-annual SunDog Music Festival is scheduled to be held August 15, 2001, 7:30 pm at the Sandy Amphitheater, 1300 East 9400 South.

The party-flavored evening is proudly presented by Excel Entertainment Group. Peter Breihholt, Julie de Azevedo, Colors, Ryan Shupe & the Rubber Band, Greg Simpson, Julia Davis Allen, Kalai, and Nancy Hanson are all scheduled to perform.

“It’s fabulous to start this summer tradition with wonderful artists in such an exclusive location,” said Michelle Spiron, Live Events Coordinator, Excel Entertainment. “Through this festival, more Utahn’s will discover the excellent musical talent we have in our state. We look forward to a long relationship with Sandy City.”

Gathering such a select group of Utah musicians for a music festival has never been done before. “We expect this to be a huge success,” said Michael Webb, host of the evening. “Each respective artist has a very large fan base on their own that admires these other artists. This is a great deal — to see eight shows for the price of one!”

“I expect that most Utahn’s aren’t aware of the tremendous talent we have here at home,” said Julie de Azevedo. “This will be one of the best show’s Utah has ever seen. No one will walk away disappointed.”

Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office before the show, at all Smith’s Tix Outlets, at Sandy City Hall, or by calling 568-6097. Tickets cost $12 for reserved seating and $8 for lawn seating at the Sandy Amphitheater.
