To celebrate its fiftieth anniversary, BYU Studies is holding a symposium entitled “Of Things Both in Heaven and in the Earth” this weekend, Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13, in the Hinckley Alumni Center at Brigham Young University. The event is free and open to the public.

However, for those who cannot make it, BYU Studies will host nearly ten bloggers who will be covering every concurrent session.  Armed with laptops on-site, bloggers will blog while the session is running, then post it as the session ends.

“This is a portent of things to come” says Jim Summerhays, editor at BYU Studies. “Conferences often have reporters and photographers roaming about, but it is a sign of the times when the place is crawling with on-site bloggers. Technology is changing so fast and demands change with it. I guess I need to  throw away my VHS.”
