Melinda Baird, pianist, and Shaundra Baird Culatta, violinist, will perform works featuring the masters of classical music including Mendelssohn, Bach, and Rachmaninoff. This is the fifth installment of their free “Music and the Masters” recitals held at the Washington DC Temple Visitors’ Center; the series is designed to highlight the stories and inspiration behind the masters of classical music.
Melinda is the Associate Chair of Piano at the Levine School of Music at Strathmore, and comes to the D.C. area from Indiana University where she served on the faculty of the Young Pianists’ Academy and is a Doctoral Candidate and recipient of the Chancellor’s Fellowship.
Shaundra Baird Culatta, Associate Concertmaster of the Piedmont Symphony Orchestra, is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in violin performance and performs regularly with the Fairfax Symphony and the Celebrated String Quartet. Between the two of them, this mother-daughter duo has played as soloists and members of orchestras across the U.S.; internationally, they have performed in Israel, Canada, France, Austria, and Germany.
