PROVO, Utah — The Brigham Young University Museum of Art is offering a new Monday night program that provides unique insights into the museum’s exhibition “Minerva Teichert: Pageants in Paint.”

This 40-minute program allows audience members to participate in an exploration of the influence of the American pageantry movement on Teichert’s murals. Audience members learn about the different elements that make up a pageant and, at the end of the program, help create a live tableau of one of the works in the exhibition.

The “Minerva Teichert: Pageants in Paint” Family Home Evening Program will be offered twice every Monday evening through December 17, 2007, in the Museum of Art Auditorium on the museum’s lower level. The 7 p.m. program will be tailored to accommodate families with children, and the 8 p.m. program will be available to Brigham Young University home evening groups and others from the community.

Seating is limited, but admission is free. Call the museum information desk at 801/422-8287 two weeks in advance to reserve seats.
