LOS ANGELES, California – Organizers for The American Mormon Chorale & Symphony Orchestra announced yesterday that the group would hold open auditions in April and May of 2006.

Aspiring members of the group will be put through a rigorous audition process to ensure only the highest quality musicians become part of the group. Perspective members will be expected to prepare a piece of music that showcases their specific talent as well as sight read a piece for the judge’s panel. Those musicians who are interested must fill out a “Petition for Audition” form that can be found online at http://www.mormonchorale.com/.

Open auditions are scheduled for singers and orchestra on the following dates. Appointments are required to audition. After the proper paperwork is completed, the applicant will be contacted directly with location and time details.

Chorale:  April 24-30, 2006
Orchestra:  May 1-7, 2006

The A.M.C.S.O was founded in 2006, and is made up of the 130-voice chorale and 70-piece orchestra, with members of the group coming from all areas of the Southern California region. All musicians are volunteers, and participate in the organization without financial compensation. Membership in the LDS Church is not a requirement for participation in the group.
