Eight Temple Square performances are scheduled for October 2004, three in the Assembly Hall, three in the Conference Center Theater, and two in the Tabernacle. All events begin at 7:30 p. m., excluding one afternoon matinee. Children under eight are encouraged to visit other venues.

Thursday and Friday, October 7 and 8—BYU World of Dance production, showcasing the repertoire of the Ballroom Dance Company, the Dancers’ Company, International Folk Dance Ensemble, Theatre Ballet, and the Cougarettes, will be presented in the Conference Center Theater. Friday, October 8—Soprano Diana Walker-Neve, accompanied by Ken Plain at the piano, will sing in the Assembly Hall selections from operatic works and Broadway musicals. Walker-Neve has sung with leading opera companies throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Saturday, October 9—Utah High School All-State Band, Choir, and Orchestra, featuring outstanding high school musicians from throughout Utah, will present a concert in the Tabernacle. For free tickets call 801-240-0080.

Saturday, October 16—New Zealand pianist John Chen, recent winner of Sydney Australia’s International Piano Competition, will play in the Assembly Hall Beethoven’s Sonata Op. 31. No. 3; Schubert’s Impromptu Op. 142 No. 3; McLeod’s Meditation on Psalm 134; Kerry’s Figured in the Drift of Stars; and Balakirev’s Islamey.

Friday, October 22—The Orchestra of Sandy City, conducted by Joel Rosenberg, will perform in the Assembly Hall Verdi’s La Forza Del Destino; Mozart’s Symphony No. 38; and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4.
