Temple Square Performances announces their Outdoor Summer Youth Concert on July 10 at This is the Place Heritage Park. This will be a free night of fun and musical entertainment at its best. Attendees will enjoy popular folk and contemporary music in a casual atmosphere. Live performances by local artists include pianist Jon Schmidt, singer/songwriters and acoustic instrumentalists Peter Breinholt and Nancy Hanson, and singer Russ Dixon, formerly with the group Colors. Singer/songwriter Cori Connors will lead the pre-show entertainment. This is the Place Heritage Park is located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon (across from Hogle Zoo). Pre-show begins at 7:00 pm, and the concert will run from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. Tickets are required. Free tickets are available at , or by calling 801-240-0080.
For an excellent addition to the evening’s concert, bring a group of friends and tour Old Deseret Village, located within the park. Living history tours will be open to concert-goers free of charge from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. This is the Place Heritage Park is an independently owned, non-profit organization.
Participants are encouraged to carpool to the concert, arrive early, and bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Limited parking will be available at the park, however patrons are encouraged to also park at the LDS Institute of Religion on the University of Utah campus or ride TRAX to the Institute. Shuttle service between the Institute and the park will make regular trips beginning at 5 pm.
