SALT LAKE CITY—A youth devotional, featuring Elder John H. Groberg and the musical group, the Moleni Brothers, will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Tickets are required and can be obtained free of charge from the Conference Center ticket office at 801-240-0080.
Elder Groberg has been a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 3 April 1976. He is currently serving as President of the Utah South Area. In April 2004, he was sustained as one of the Seven Presidents of the Seventy.
Elder Groberg authored the book, “The Other Side of Heaven,” in the which he shares his real-life experiences as a missionary in Tonga. A movie based on his book and mission experiences has received national recognition and acclaim.
The Moleni Brothers, a popular Polynesian musical group, are the sons of Fisi and Liahona Moleni from West Valley City. Born and raised in Tonga, New Zealand, and Utah, the brothers recently released their first CD, “The Gathering.”
Additional upcoming devotionals for youth will be held on 14 July, 10 August, and 1 September 2004. Each devotional will last approximately one hour, making them ideal for Young Men, Young Women, or Mutual activities, and will feature a prominent speaker selected from the General Authorities or general officers of the Church, accompanied by youth-oriented Latter-day Saint musicians.
