SALT LAKE CITY— “Savior of the World”, the long running, sacred musical drama at the Conference Center Theater, opens its eighth season on Friday, 19 March 2004. To date, the highly popular production has been seen by nearly 250,000 patrons and has featured over 800 cast members. This season, there are more opportunities to obtain tickets than ever before.

“Over the past seven runs, tickets have been completely distributed in a matter of one or two days,” said Stephen Hall, administrative supervisor for the Conference Center Theater production. The morning of ticket release, heavy demand on Internet and telephone ticketing systems has made it difficult for patrons to purchase tickets before they sell out. “This season, we took a gradual approach to ticket publicity, making it possible to obtain tickets throughout the on-sale period and after the production opens,” said Hall.

Ticket personnel at the Conference Center Theater believe the new approach helps diminish frustration for patrons. According to ticket office manager Louie Krutsch, “Beginning Saturday morning, 20 March, tickets may be purchased for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday performances on .” In addition, blocks of tickets — ideal for family, youth, and ward groups — will be available. Tickets can also be obtained by telephone (1-801-240-0080) and at the Conference Center ticket office (Door 4) beginning Monday, 22 March, at 10:00 a.m.

Because of the popularity of the production, a newly recorded compact disc of the music will be released through Church Distribution centers on 2 April 2004. The new recording features members of the Church who have performed on Broadway and in other professional theaters and concert halls throughout the world.
