SALT LAKE CITY – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released a new CD-ROM Resource Edition of the scriptures. The upgraded electronic edition allows computer users to search, copy, print, highlight and make notations in scriptural text, as well as in study guides, maps and photos.

“This new product gives families a valuable tool to find answers in the scriptures to today’s challenges,” said Elder Robert D. Hales of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. “Every member of the family will be able to personalize their individual scripture study and, as a result, broaden their knowledge of the gospel and increase their testimonies.

Straightforward and simple to use, this complete scripture study resource features the same capabilities of the Standard Edition 1.0, plus two additional levels to accommodate in-depth research.

The Scriptures: CD-ROM Resource Edition 1.0 contains the full text of the Church’s authorized scriptures in English, the Triple Combination in French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish and the Old Testament in Hebrew and the New Testament in Greek. Included in the study resources in both editions are the Bible Dictionary, Topical Guide, chapter headings and footnotes, a Guide to the Scriptures, maps and photographs.

The new edition provides the capability for multiple users to highlight and insert marginal notes in the scriptural text or study references in different languages simultaneously.

Easy-to-follow tutorials guide the user through the basic operations as well as the enhanced research capacity of the newly released resource product.
