Buena Vista, VA (May 7, 2003) – Registration for the upcoming Church History Conference to take place at Southern Virginia University on June 13-14 is currently underway.

This year’s conference will feature a group of presenters made up of well-known Church scholars, artists and musicians that are sure to enlighten and uplift.  A complete list of presenters and topics are as follows:

Jeffrey Marsh, BYU Ancient Scripture, “Joseph, Prophet of the Restoration”

Susan Easton Black, BYU Church History, “Who’s Who in the Doctrine & Covenants”

Monte Nyman, BYU Professor emeritus & SVU Academic Vice President, “When Will    Zion be Redeemed”

Liz Lemon Swindle, Renowned Church History Artist, “Church History Art”

Karl Ricks Anderson, Author of Joseph Smith’s Kirkland, “Divine Manifestations in Kirkland”

Scot & Maurine Proctor, Publisher and Editor of Meridian Magazine, “Multimedia Presentation of Joseph Smith from Sharon to Carthage.”

Musical performances by songwriter/producer Kenneth Cope, the Richmond Mormon Chorale and SVU Institute Director and Professor Jonathan and Cynthia Austin will also take place.

Registration is limited to 400 participants and is open to adults 18 and older.  Participants are encouraged to register early by contacting the SVU Conferences and Workshops Office at 540-261-4123.  Pre-registration forms and conference fliers can also be found at www.southernvirginia.edu under Conferences.  A $40 registration fee is required.  Campus meals and housing is available for an additional cost.
