In their second performance on NBC’s Sing Off, Monday night, BYU’s male a capella group Vocal Point performed two songs in the competition to enthusiastic and impressed judges.
Dressed in green jackets and white shirts, the group sang their close harmony to Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never” and for their second song, looked more like the rat pack with dark suits and hats while crooning “Just the Way You Look Tonight.”
The group is still missing Ben Murphy who is away because his father died, and video segments before the performances showed them in a kneeling circle praying for him. They said, “It is important for us to stay in the competition because we feel that we owe it to Ben, so he can come back and have this experience.
Judge Sara Bareilles said they looked like “wholesome thundercats” and said she thought their performance was “awesome.” Ben Folds said, “I never thought I would see Justin Bieber sung by a bunch of Mormons.” “So smooth” said Shawn Stockman. See for yourself how the Mormon boys are making us all proud on the show.
