Vocal-Point-is-one-of-the-a-cappella-groups“Staying true to their faith and strong to their competition”, NBC’s The Sing Off announcer said as he introduced the BYU’s A capella group, Vocal Point, last Monday where they competed against seven others and won the right to return another week for the competition.

The category this week was hip-hop, not the genre Vocal Point usually chooses, but their rendition of Puff Daddy’s “I’ll Be Missing You” moved the judges, particularly because soloist Ben Murphy lost his father to leukemia in the past month. The judges said that in addition to their great tones, they showed the ability to “be authentic.”  Below is this performance, as well as their fourth performance where they sang “Footloose.”
