Meet Author Darla Isackson and Peggy McFarland, MS, NCC

 

Darla Isackson loves writing, waterfalls, and watermelon. She graduated from Utah State University, and served a mission in Southern California. She co-authored the book To Parents with Love during the years she was raising her five sons. She co-founded Latter-day Woman Magazine in the 80s and later served as managing editor for Covenant Communications and then Aspen Books. Darla has been a regular columnist for Meridian Magazine since 2001 and is currently managing editor for a senior publication. She has been a freelance writer and editor for over a decade and has edited over 200 books. Her book Trust God No Matter What! was released in 2009, and her new book: After My Son’s Suicide: An LDS Mother Finds Comfort in Christ and Strength to Go On in 2010. Her intense commitment to the world of words comes from a belief that faith is sharable and that faith-filled words can lift and build.


imagen 1Peggy A. McFarland, MS, NCC, practices in Oregon as an integrative mental health counselor, and also serves as an early morning seminary teacher. Peggy earned her BS degree in social work from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in mental health counseling from Capella University. She utilizes Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT ) in her practice and is the creator of the The Light Point Healing Center www.thelightpoint.org.Peggy has written a values-based curriculum to help girls develop positive body image during the transition of puberty, entitled Healthy Transitions for Girls.
