Rebecca Walker ClarkeWhen Rebecca Clarke turned seven she got a blue plastic typewriter, and has been writing ever since. Her personal essays have been published in Church publications and won national recognition. She currently teaches writing at BYU, where she earned both her Bachelors and Masters degrees. Rebecca also edits The Restored Gospel and Applied Christianity: Student Essays in Honor of President David O. McKay, a journal that publishes the winning essays of the country’s highest paying personal essay contest. She lived in Guatemala for 18 months, where she served as a missionary for the Church. Along with writing and teaching, Rebecca enjoys reading, gardening, and fixing up one of the oldest homes in Orem, Utah. Most of all, she likes to spend time with her husband Sam and their two daughters Eliza and Emme: taking walks, reading books, and swinging on the tire swing in their front yard.
