Three of my four children have left the church, so I recognize the feeling of confusion and sense of failure as they repeatedly make choices that seem self-defeating and lead to shutting out the benefits of the Spirit in their lives. However, they are also making a lot if good choices that reflect the values they were taught in the home, and while I pray continually for the Lord to strive with their spirits and be a constant reminder of the sweetessof gospel principles, they must ultimately make those daily choices and comparisons for themselves, just as We all do. Mortality is quite the schooling process!
