A good starting point to help explain the similarities with the masonic rites is found at: https://en.fairmormon.org/Mormonism_and_temples/Endowment/Freemasonry

I am sincere when I ask this. I read in several places that Joseph Smith received his Masonic rites just a few weeks before he revealed the temple endowment, and that the LDS temple endowment is identical in many respects to the Masonic rites. How can this be? My Mormon friends said it was because the Masonic rites were handed down from Abraham. But when I researched that, I found that wasn't true (from Masonic historians). Mormonism is appealing in many ways, but man, this is disconcerting.

I love these Missionary stories that go to Mark Albright. When I open Meridian Mag I look first to see a Missionary story . I love these pictures of these Saints going to the Temple. Great Senior couple helping them God bless.

If this is the same Alan Hepworth that worked for Beneficial Life and for the Church in computers--spelling is the same, this is a very fitting reward for his many years of serving in the temple. One day a week, he and his good wife would ride the earliest bus in and work the early session in the temple before he would go to work. To be able to go to the temple with these wonderful members that they have had the privilege of teaching the temple preparation classes to is just icing on the cake for a life of selfless service. Missionary work is not done until we get the new members to the temple where they are able to receive their own endowment and be sealed as a family. What a great example this missionary couple is.

The Lords timing for all these families is His own. We must each prepare ourselves for service in His kingdom the way this couple has done so beautifully. China will open its doors soon and we will all have an opportunity to serve in the same capacity if we so choose. I am thankful for this example.

Just wanted to tell you thank you for taking the time to publish all these wonderful missionary stories. I love reading them and every week I try to include one to my missionary who is serving in Alaska. Lots of times they come right as he is dealing with many of these same struggles or circumstances. What a blessing to read of how someone else dealt with those same issues! Thank you for having something uplifting for both of us to read as we journey through his mission. Rebecca Crowther

"...we soon became aware that many of them had not yet received their temple endowment. Some were new converts and others had been members for several years. ..." Why did it have to take these wonderful Couple Missionaries to prepare the African converts for the Temple experience? Why did the Bishop not help them sooner, seeing our ultimate goal is the Temple?
