PHOTO ESSAY

Scot Facer Proctor photographed the first ten photos of this essay, while the rest are from LDS Church Public Affairs and are copyrighted by the Intellectual Reserve.   When the Brigham City Temple is dedicated Sept. 23, 2012, it will be Utah’s 14th temple, in one of the state’s oldest communities. Perhaps that is why there is such enormous affection around this temple that stands, white, with its unique two spires against the green mountain marked with a “B.” In the first hour when people were able to apply online for tickets to the open house, to be held 18 August through 15 September, it broke records for the number of requests for tickets. Usually requests for tickets for a temple open house are about 25,000 for the first hour, but an astounding 103,000 tickets were requested for this temple in the first hour. Already 300,000 people have requested tickets. Tour reservations may still be made by visiting www.templeopenhouse.lds.org (maximum 20 reservations) or by calling 1-855-537-2000. Tours will be available Mondays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. and Tuesdays to Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m.
