Simple Pleasures
On Sunday morning my 4-year-old grandson Gavin told his mother, “Mom, this is going to be the best day ever because we get to sleep in church!” His mom explained that sleeping in church wasn’t appropriate. Gavin said, “But Dad said we get to sleep in.” His mom then explained: “We can sleep in because stake conference starts later today.”

Something Like That
When I was teaching the 7-year olds in Primary, I asked if anyone knew what “humility” was. After a lot of puzzled looks and thoughtful expressions, one little girl said: “Isn’t humility something that happens in August when you get hot and sticky?”

Let the Games Begin
Before giving our lesson to our 8 year old Primary class, we each take a turn sharing the coolest thing we did that week. It helps us get to know the kids. I told the kids I was in Lindon yesterday and one boy exclaimed: “Cool! That’s where the Olympics are gonna be!”

Working It Out
Recently my daughter-in-law shared this:
My 7-year-old and 5-year-old daughters were fighting over a toy. I told them they needed to come to a compromise. They continued to argue so I told them that the toy would be taken away if they continued to fight about it. My 5-year-old said: “Don’t worry, Mom. We are just going to have a conversation about it … but there may be some rough talking.”
