Gladys Knight to Perform Live at Debut Event for Salt Lake 2002 Games Commemorative CD

SALT LAKE CITY — r3 Media, an official licensee of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, will release to consumers a Salt Lake Games commemorative CD on November 13, 2001. Two-time Grammy Award winner and Rock n Roll Hall of Fame artist, Gladys Knight, will perform “This is Our Time”, a cut from the CD, on the evening of November 12.

As Utah invites the world to celebrate the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, r3 Media invites you to a pre-release media event on Monday, November 12, 2001 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at The Grand America Hotel in the Grand Salon located at 555 South Main Street in Salt Lake City.

Knight will perform at 2:10 p.m. and again at 3:30 p.m.

Also attending will be Senator Orrin Hatch, Marie Osmond, Jenny Jordan, Donny Osmond, Paul Engemann, McCoslyn & Paye, Julie deAzevedo, exBand, Peter Breinholt and others.

The commemorative CD is an eclectic and inspiring collection from great artists such as SheDaisy, Marie Osmond, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Donny Osmond and Marshall Dyllon. Included on the album are Utah’s own, Kurt Bestor, Sam Cardon, Peter Breinholt, Julie deAzevedo, Northern Voices, McCoslyn & Paye, Jenny Jordan, exBand and Paul Engemann.

Country music legends, Brooks & Dunn, perform “Everyday Heroes” written and composed by Senator Orrin Hatch & Janice Kapp Perry. A David Foster production of “Smile” is performed by Shawn King.
