Meridian reader Loray Randall writes: “A family attended the temple just before Christmas to be sealed. Later in Primary they were discussing activities the children had done with their families during the holidays. The leader asked a girl from this particular family and she said they had gone to the temple. When asked what they did there she replied: We got stapled.'” Come laugh with us.

Our Heavenly Home
We live close to the beach and our chapel, 25 minutes away, is also the stake center. At stake conference a sister who had recently got married was talking about the blessings of being married in the temple, the Lord’s house. Elijah, who was 7 at the time, turned to my husband and said, “But I thought this building was the Lord’s house.” My husband explained to him that the temple was the Lord’s house as well. Elijah pondered this for a short time, and then said: “Oh I get it; then this building must be Jesus’ beach house.”

Help From Above
Quite a few years ago I was singing in a professional women’s choir and we sang in sacrament meeting where a young woman was having her missionary farewell. She had asked her brother, who had been very inactive, to give the opening payer. He was quite overcome with emotion as he started his prayer. He began, “Dear Heavenly Father,” then stopped, unable to continue. As we waited, I heard a young voice in the audience say, “We thank thee for this day…” as if to help keep him moving. How wonderful that children are taught to pray at such a young age!

A Special Call
Last night my husband took a call from a member of the stake presidency. When he got to the phone he greeted the caller by saying, “Hello President!” My 7-year-old was listening and asked me: “Is he talking to Obama?”

Sealed with a Kiss
My daughter is a therapist for children and teenagers. She was visiting two young boys, ages six and eight, in their home. The parents were in the room as well. The older boy tattled, “Johnny kissed a girl and it was a French kiss!” The therapist and the parents forced a smile. Johnny answered defiantly: “It was an American kiss!”
