GG began writing at the age of nine when it became necessary to establish alternate realities in her life. She attended Stanford University for her BA and received her MA from George Washington University. During the time she was raising her children, she spent her time writing during naps, and finally began to publish in the early ‘nineties with her debut Voices In Your Blood: Discovering Identity Through Family History. This national title was soon followed by the first two books of her genealogical mystery series, featuring her intrepid heroines Alex and Briggie. At this point in her life, her bi-polar illness worsened and she was very ill for slightly over ten years, at which time she miraculously found the means of controlling the disease. This uplifting tale is recounted in Deliverance for Depression: Finding Hope and Healing Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Her writing career was resurrected, as she began completing forgotten manuscripts on her hard drive, among which were two more Alex and Briggie mysteries, a psychological suspense thriller and the epic she had been struggling with for forty years, The Last Waltz: A Novel of Love and War. This is written to a national audience and is widely acknowledged to be her finest work. After wrapping up her popular Alex and Briggie series, she has begun a new series called The Crazy Ladies of Oakwood, about a mildly neurotic group of four women who travel the world together, discovering things comic and dire about themselves and one another. The first of these books is scheduled for release in Fall, 2010.She is the mother of 3, grandmother of two, and wife of fellow writer, David P. Vandagriff. When she is not writing, she is visiting family or traveling with her husband. But, most of the time she is writing. She loves to communicate with her readers through herwebsites: https://ggvandagriff.com, and https://last-waltz.com.
