Jeffrey R. Chadwick is a professor of Ancient Scripture at Brigham Young University and has been involved in the archaeology of Israel.
Chadwick was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany. Chadwick has a bachelors degree from Weber State University a masters degree from BYU and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah. He also studied at Tel Aviv University and Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Chadwick taught at LDS seminaries in Ogden and then at the LDS Institutes of Religion in Logan and Ogden. He taught from 1992-1994 at the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center and was a summer instructor there from 1982-2000.
Chadwick has been involved with the Tel Miqne Expedition and the Tel Safi (Gath) Expedition, archeological projects in Israel.
Chadwick wrote Middle-east Conflicts: Understanding the History Behind the Hatred with Richard N. Holzapfel and Daniel C. Peterson. He also wrote The Holy Land: A Geographical, Historical and Archeological Guide to the Land of the Bible with D. Kelly Ogden.
Chadwick was appointed to serve from 2008-2010 as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American School for Oriental Research and has served as a senior fellow at the William F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research.[1]
