How can you get involved in the religious freedom debate? How can we reduce the perceived conflict between religious freedom and LGBT rights? And what does separation of church and state really mean?

These are just a few of the questions to be answered during a religious freedom conference at Brigham Young University July 7–8, 2016. The BYU Religious Freedom Annual Review will be held at the BYU Conference Center in Provo, Utah. Four of the notable speakers include:

  • Elder Lance B. Wickman, general counsel for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  • Matthew S. Holland, president of Utah Valley University
  • Daniel I. Mark, commissioner of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom
  • Hannah C. Smith, senior counsel at the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty

The conference will include sessions and workshops about political trends and religious freedom, understanding media coverage of religion, protecting religion in the workplace and the role of interfaith cooperation in protecting religious freedom.
