Great principles here! However, I must say that some of us just are not made to be early morning people. Ever since I was a teen, morning just has not been a great time for me, physically or emotionally, Some of us have to move around a bit before we become clear minded, and that's o.k. A prayer offered at 10 a.m. is just as valuable as a prayer at 6 a.m. The important thing is to have sincere daily personal prayer and scripture study. Let's not become too rigid here.

This was a thought-provoking, fine article. I might add one personal insight, however. By nature, I don't wake quickly and am not instantly alert on wakening, but once I get up, my mind and my body tend to go into higher speed. I will often remain in bed for a few extra minutes just to quietly awaken and express gratitude for the many things I often take for granted: sunshine, beauty outside my window, a restful night, a new day, a healthy body, etc. I have found that I sometimes take more time and invest more thought speaking with my Father while driving, walking, etc. than while on my knees. The conversations are also more frequent than they might otherwise be. These moments of communication don't replace kneeling prayers, but they tend to enhance them.

Excellent article/talk. I didn't just read it and smile. I took my shoes off, went back to my bedroom and started my day over. What a sweet spirit came into my soul.
