That's beautiful! True Christians for sure! As a former Christian and Muslim convert, I can say that both religions are beautiful and peaceful when practiced the way they're supposed to be. Thank you and God bless all of you for helping your neighbors in their time of need!

Judge the Qur'an like you do the Holy Bible. There is able savagery and beauty in both to make a reasoned and educated comparison. Some passages spoke to a different age and we must accept that.

Just like the Bible can easily be misinterpreted, so can the Quran! Taken out of context, passages can take on all sorts of meanings.

Tracey, the old testament says the exact same thing: Kill the non-believers and blasphemers. Scriptures like that were used to condemn and kill Christ, even though he instituted a higher law in their place. The point is, taking one little piece of someone's scripture and throwing away the context and then twisting it to condemn an entire people is not a very Christian thing to do.

Very Nice! And although peaceful religious practices may differ some, Abraham (common link) plays a prominent role as an example of faith in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Many in each of these faiths would agree God is the same for all three faiths.

Alice, you are loved and your opinions are valuable, the common misconception in theology is that has been woven in our ideology that any certain denomination is more violent than another. We have just as many, if not more text in our scriptures stating to kill others. We take it in the context that what was a commandment for certain persons is not universal and we are called to love our neighbors. If you read past that individual verse or verses, you'll see that, in likeness to our scriptures, it also lays out the command to love all. You are loved and it is a common perspective that people have, the truth is far different. God bless, Alice!

Alice again you are mistaken. There is only one God. Muslims worship the same God you do. God the father. They love as you do. They live their lives in peace. True islam teaches love honor respect for ALL. it breaks my heart every time i see or hear someone talk as you when you really dont understand or know. You are missing out on an wonderful belief by closing off yourself to these people. Trust me true muslim do not want nor are they taught to hate or kill Christians. If that were the case i would be dead a hundred times over.

I love Islam, and am horrified that Americans think what they do about Islam and Muslims. I'm no longer a believer in god, or else I might have once converted to Islam. I've lived and traveled and worked in Muslim countries, and have found them to be more honest than their Christian brethren. And where I live in the American South, most of our medical specialists are Muslim; locals should be more respectful.

Alice you are mistaken and have probably heard false information from the media somewhere. No where in the Qaran does it say they should kill unbelievers. There are extremists that have interpreted incorrectly or skewed the islamic religion but those only represent a small percentage. Most are a peaceful people. And besides Jesus taught to love everyone and bless those that curse you. He would have us be good Samaritans to those that believe different things. It doesn't matter who they worship--it's called being nice

As long as you understand we do not believe in the same God. God the father gave His Son so that all can live. Their god has no son, Jesus is just a prophet and they must physically die to be with their god.
We are to show kindness to all, while they are to kill all who do not believe as they do.

This used to be my Ward building several years ago, when the mosque was still quite new. One Sunday we had a "visiter" from the mosque, checking us out, to see what our beliefs were and who we were. It was "interesting" to say the least as I think both "sides" were a little bit wary of each other.
Also, I told my wife last evening, that the Bellevue Stake would reach out to them, before I even saw this story!

Plus, LDS know from our history, the persecution of the saints. My first thought when I read this, was of the saints who were taken in by their neighbors, across the river when they were driven from their homes in the winter.
